the guest book says just what we had hoped it might,
down to "on a stormy night the waves lull you to sleep".
the studio sleeps 2 in open plan, open to the rafters, grade II listed, snug as a bug, seaside bliss.
the light in the studio is glorious ( we really have spent too much time at barbara hepworths house in st ives ). with its private sunny garden, the studio is tucked behind the original wing of a grand georgian grade II listed house on the quay, overlooking the historic harbour village of charlestown and is fabulous.
the studio sleeps 2 in open plan seaside tranquillity.
built in the late 1700's, the tiny harbour village of charlestown is largely unchanged and has been granted UNESCO world heritage status.
the beaches either side of the quay are so close you can smell the salt in the air. it is an easy stroll over the quay's lock gate to the hotel for a crab sarnie on their terrace or you might like to stay at home in the lovingly planted south facing garden.
charlestown is approximately 10 minutes from both the eden project and the lost gardens of heligan. it is also wonderfully placed for visiting fowey, the maritime museum in falmouth, the tate at st ives, and padstow, with rick stein's restaurants. the airport at newquay and jamie oliver's restaurant fifteen are a short drive, and it is 10 minutes from the main line train station.
the bed is a sumptuous king.
the decoration is to the exceptionally high standards you would expect from us. style, comfort and attention to detail are the operative words. the sheets are from the white company and are the most fabulous egyptian cotton percale ( the duvet, pillows and towels are all the white company too ). the delabole slate floored wetroom has a fabulously powerful shower, loo and basin. and you will find a hair dryer in the chest of drawers.
there is a wonderfully comfy sofa, a smart telly, a bose sound dock and the WiFi works a treat.
the galley kitchen has all the appliances you would expect: an oven that is also a microwave, an electric hob, a fridge, a dishwasher, an iron and ironing board and hopefully everything else you might need.
