the sea cabin for 2 is very special indeed
and if you are lucky, on a stormy night
the waves will lull you to sleep.
the sea cabin is a pair of exquisitely renovated Grade II
listed buildings, with its glorious sunny courtyard, designed
for alfresco eating, living and generally have a grand
time, hidden in its own private garden on the quay
overlooking the historic harbour village of charlestown.
the sea cabin sleeps 2 and a
little one in seaside tranquillity.
built in the late 1700s, the tiny harbour village of
charlestown is largely unchanged and has been granted
UNESCO world heritage status.
the beaches, either side of the quay, are so close a
toddler can make it. it is an easy stroll over the quay's
lock gate to the restaurant, the pub, the wine bar, the deli,
the cafe, the museum, the antiques shop and it is
a 10 minute walk to the supermarket.
or you might like to stay at home in your lovingly planted
south facing garden and have some great grub delivered.
charlestown is approximately 10 minutes from both the
eden project and the lost gardens of heligan. it is also
ideally situated for visiting the maritime museum
in falmouth, the tate at st ives, and of course, padstow.
the airport at newquay and our closest surfing beach,
watergate bay, are both a 20 minute drive and it is
a 10 minute drive from the main line train station.
the beauty of the sea cabin is being able to enjoy
the best of the weather whilst being protected
from the worst, in total privacy.
the decoration is to the exceptionally high
standards you would expect from both of us.
the bed is a wonderful king.
the bedroom is open to the rafters, has style,
comfort and attention to detail.
the sheets are the most fabulous egyptian cotton percale.
the duvet, pillows and towels are the softest you can find.
the cast iron free standing bath is designed for soaking.
the wet room has a wonderfully powerful shower,
basin and most importantly, a loo with a view !
the open plan sitting room/kitchen is designed for
comfort. there is a wonderfully squishy sofa, a smart
television, a bose sound dock and WiFi.
all the kitchen appliances would expect to find
are there, a ceramic hob, an electric oven, a fridge,
a microwave and a dishwasher. you'll find
everything else you might need in the cupboards.
the washing machine, tumble dryer,
airier, iron and ironing board are to the rear
in the wash house.
eating is in the sitting room/kitchen with its bank of
windows overlooking your private garden or in the
enclosed courtyard, where you can soak up the sun
before, during or after a lazy lunch
and if it looks as if it
might rain or the sun is just too hot ( ! ) the state of the
art sail can, at the press of a button/crank of a handle,
cover the entire courtyard, meaning you can enjoy being
outside whatever the weather.
it is this, along with the magical setting that makes the
sea cabin so wonderful ... we spent a summer here
and didn't want to go home.
we do not allow animals, nor smoking.
parking is easy and free.
if you would like to come with friends, parents or parents
in law, but want to give them ( and you ! ) a bit of space,
the studio is available for short stays all year round and
is at the top of the garden path.
our cottages are wonderfully close to each other
but not so close you can't breathe
and we can sleep up to 24.
do let us know if you'd like some great grub when you
arrive, during your holiday or the night you leave, and
maybe a brilliant breakfast box for your first morning
or every morning?
if you'd like our wonderful therapist to visit for some
spa at home just send us an email ...
