marine villa is a grand georgian grade II
listed seaside villa with its own private
seaside courtyard garden and
jasmine filled summer house, on the quay,
overlooking the historic harbour village of charlestown
and it is decorated to the exquisitely high standards you
would expect from both of us.
marine villa has a pair of magnificent sea view
bedrooms, both with super king beds
and luxurious ensuite bathrooms.
the master bedroom also has a small interconnecting
study that can be made up as a childs room
with a cot or a single or a bunk bed.
marine villa can sleep up to 6 in seaside elegance.
built in the late 1700s, the tiny harbour village of
charlestown is largely unchanged and has been granted
UNESCO world heritage status.
the beaches, either side of the quay, are so close a
toddler can make it. it is an easy stroll over the quay's
lock gate to the restaurant, the pub, the wine bar, the deli,
the cafe, the museum, the antiques shop and it is
a 10 minute walk to the supermarket.
or you might like to stay at home in your
lovingly planted south facing garden
and have some great grub delivered.
charlestown is approximately 10 minutes from both the
eden project and the lost gardens of heligan. it is also
ideally situated for visiting the maritime museum
in falmouth, the tate at st ives, and of course, padstow.
the airport at newquay and our closest surfing beach,
watergate bay, are both a 20 minute drive and it is
a 10 minute drive from the main line train station.
every room has a stunning view.
the bedrooms have style, comfort and attention to detail.
the sheets are the most fabulous egyptian cotton percale.
the duvet, pillows and towels are the softest you can find.
this house sees us bring together our eye for detail and
design. it houses some of david's favourite finds - I joke
that the house itself is the largest part of his collection !
the kitchen has all the modern appliances you would
expect, washing machine/tumble dryer, gas hob, electric
oven, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, WiFi and hopefully
everything else you might need.
the dining room has a huge solid oak table, perfect for
late lazy breakfasts or an even later candle lit supper. If
the tall ships are in, you might even spot someone
swinging from the crows nest!
in the sitting room there are two fabulous sofas, a fire
place for real fires, a smart TV with a DVD, and there is
a digital radio/CD. the house is sheltered from the bustle
of the harbour by its large sculptural hedges.
the bathrooms are near perfection
both with baths and powerful showers.
there are all sorts of things you might like to use if you
are bringing preschool kids to marine villa such as a
buggy, socket covers, anti door slammers, a baby
monitor, a steriliser, a changing mat, stair gates, a high
chair, a play mat, a travel cot with sheets and
waterproof mattress protectors, plates and bowls,
tumblers, knives, forks and spoons, a potty, a baby bath
and a hand held food whizzer.
we do not allow animals, nor smoking.
parking is easy and free.
if you would like to bring friends, parents or parents in
law, but want to give them (and you ! ) a bit of space,
the studio is available for short stays all year round and
is next door to marine villa.
our cottages are wonderfully close to each other
but not so close you can't breathe
and we can sleep up to 24.
do let us know if you'd like some great grub when you
arrive, during your holiday or the night you leave, and
maybe a brilliant breakfast box for your first morning?
if you'd like our wonderful therapist to visit for some
spa at home just send us an email.
